We have two kinds of plug sockets here, the old kind have two flat shaped pins, and the new have three pins, two flat and one round. The two pin ones are being phased out, so more modern houses and hotels only have three pin sockets, but your old two pin appliances still fit in them.

I am from the UK and live here and have always found it really hard to find decent converters. The best ones are the multi national ones that do everything, they are normally the most expensive though.

If you go to www.interpower.com/ic/guide.htm, you can see the voltages and pictures of how the plugs look.

Hope this information is not too late!
