kinder hotels or similar

i have been browsing the kinder hotels brochure, and think it looks fab - i am looking to go when my dd's are 4 and 14, and i think the range of activities would suit them both - and the bonus that i would get some free time

But, it does look tres expensive, so i am now wondering if there is a cheaper option? Not too worried where it is (abroad would be nice as DD2 has never flown (DD1 only once).

Am thinking of the summer hols next year, to give me plenty of time to save up.

Can anyone recommend anywhere please?

Falkensteiner or Austrian Farm Holidays.

Kinder Hotels is simply a marketing group for a number of privately owned hotels. There are thousands more out there who provide a similar service but are not a member of Kinder Hotels. Have a look at www.tiscover.at at well. I'll give it some thought and post later, must put ds to bed now .

orienteerer - i love that last one

I cant look at the prices yet/book for August next year yet - it only goes up to June. So i am guessing that come this August i will be able to book?

Many many thanks

Swiss equivalent here - we've stayed at a few. Or you could rent an apartment/self catering and arrange activities locally through the tourist office. Early July and towards end of August usually less busy as not local school holidays but you may find the kids' programme isn't fully up and running. Esprit have offers atm for this summer around £500 per adult, about £250-300 per child per week (excludes travel)if that is your sort of thing.

Yes but the "packages" for 2010 are not going to rise massively for 2011?

We've stayed at a few Kinderhotels before (summer and winter) and, while they seem expensive, you need to bear in mind that absolutely everything (bar alcohol) is included, the childcare, free bicycles, buggies, the spa/pool, food, snacks, coffee/tea (even at night) etc.

As an alternative, have a look at Kinder Select Hotels. We've not stayed with them but they look nice too.
