I didnt stay at the Abama but I know its isolated which isnt that bad as there isnt alot to do or see on the commercialised coast line. I stayed at the Anthelia (interconnecting rooms great) and a cheap taxi ride to Las Americas if you wanted to have a stroll in the evenings. We popped out everyother night but really I didnt like it that much.

Big watch out its very expensive in Tenerife and the hotels are the same or even more than here. So it could be a very expensive holiday that is shorthaul. Refer to tripadvisor for more feedback.

I've stayed at the Anassa with my two who were aged 2 & 3 at the time. Had a lovely time, but we couldn't leave the children in the kids club, but that didn't bother us too much. We had a great time. We're going back for two weeks in October (kids will be 6 & 4 then). Lovely hotel.

I loved the Abama when I stayed there a couple of years ago, couldn't fault them in terms of service, food was great and had some fantastic spa treatments.

I haven't stayed at The Anassa but having looked at the website I would say it doesn't look quite as nice but it's difficult to tell just from pictures.

I really liked the isolation of Abama, it didn't feel like we were in Tenerife iykwim but I was child-free when I went so it wasn't an issue at all.

Thank you for your feedback.
Can I ask those of you that stayed at Abama about flies as all the reviews on tripadvisor (well, a fair few) claim that the place is infested, maybe because of the banana plantations nearby .

I am now considering the Porto Sani Resort in Halkidiki so off to start a thread about that

I have stayed at the Anassa. They are out of the way from the major resort areas so I would recommend a hire car if you stay there.

It does have a lovely little beach area and it backs onto national parkland which we went bike riding through.

The rooms are lovely, the service is great, the spa is expensive but very good and the food it nice. However I like to have a bit of variety with eating so we went out for dinner or lunch every couple of days.

I have also stayed at the Elysium in Paphos and would recommend this as well. It is a bit better placed (easier to go out for meals particularly if you don't want to hire a car). Great facilities, rooms, spa. Better choice of restaurants and pools. Probably at bit better with kids too.

Hi Eshermummy.

I have a childcare buisness here in Tenerife and most of my work comes from there.
It is very popular and a wonderful resort.

Many families who come to the abama return time after time as they love the place.

It has an amazing golf course that Bill Tarney(Jack Duckworth from corrie)often comes to play on.
The beach is beautiful and you get a cable car/ lift down to it which children love.

There are spectacular swimming pools and restaurats.

There is a kids club which is pretty well decked out with a ball pool, colouring, treasure hunts etc etc etc.
I often get booked by parents to do a few hours in the mornings because the ratio of staff is not good at all, obviously depending on the time of year you come.
Also, the charge for babysitting is an extortionate 30 euros per hour (heard it has been reduced to 25 euros per hour but not 100% on that) so again, i am called upon for evenings as my rate is half that amount and i am British with 14 years experience as a nanny and 5 yrs as a maternity nurse.

There are grassy areas to kick a ball around and to get out the heat of the sun. I love to do that as i put 2 big toles down and bring lots of toys, books to keep the little ones amused and ... they are out of the sun for a while.

Flies - yes, you do get flies but i must admit, i have not found them so bad the last few weeks (i am currently with a family staying there now).

If there is anything you would like to know please dont hesitate to ask and i will answer the best i can.

Lisa.

LISA2 - Thanks for that, we are actually going to the Sani Resort in Greece now but am still considering the Abama for later on this year, maybe Oct half term, in which case I would definitely try and contact you again as your business sounds like something we'd definitely use.

Hi, we are going to the Abama in about 10 days time. But since booking it I am a bit worried about the weather. I am not sure I have picked the best time to go as the weather reports at the moment don't look very good. Can anyone tell me what the weather is like at this time of year in Tenerife? We are sun worshippers so wanted to go somewhere hot! We are going the last couple of days of June/first week of July. We have a two year old so wanted to go before the schools break up. Thanks so much.

Abama's great, only thing was we went in low season (Nov) weather fine but the pools were too cold for comfortable swimming. Lovely kids' club.
