Isn't Switzerland a bit too far for a weekend? Bearing in mind you'd presumably want at least two full days hiking or whatever it is you have in mind?

You could put a call out for MadameLindt or KreecherlivesUpstairs, they both live in Switzerland

A long weekend, perhaps - Friday to Monday?
We've done something similar for the past couple of years - flown to Zurich then got train to Bernese Oberland. An early flight from the UK will mean you get to your resort/hotel at around 2pm. Then you get two full days there and on Monday you leave around 3pm to get an evening flight back from Zurich to UK.

Peak District is easily accessible from many areas - we often go there for a couple of nights from London/East Anglia.

I've done a long weekend in Switzerland several times. Fly to Geneva then take train from the airport (dont even have to go outside) and a couple of very scenic hours later you are in the perfect village of Champery. The train stops in the village, couldnt be easier. Cable car up into the mountains if you fancy too.....
