Can anyone recommend a reliable travel insurance company?

I usually book with the same company but someone told me recently that if anything goes wrong they are notoriously unhelpful. So am now seeking recommendations!

We do annual trip and have just gone for Swinton for just under £60 for the family. It's worth having a look on something like confused to make comparisons.

i booked Amex insurance last year. I don't have an Amex card, so I just did it online. Unfortunately I had to use it, as I had a skiing accident. They were excellent. They went over the top to make everything easy for me, and the little money I had to pay locally was returned to me within 3 days of making the claim. Almost no questions asked.

I always use Post Office, they are good all rounders, not pricey and also cover pre-existing conditions with no extra charges. During recent volcanic ash palaver, think they were one of few companies to pay out no probs. You can apply online or just pick up leaflet in local post office
