Europe characterful beach holiday with toddlers

Were looking to go away for last 2 weeks of August with DS and DD, they will be nealry 3 and 1.

We would like a really picturesque beach village or town, anywhere in Europe. We'd like it hot but not really, really hot. Have pretty much ruled out Italy (expensive), Croatia (cant find good accomodation where we wanted to go), Greece and Turkey(too hot), Slovenia (too cold), Portugal (too nervous- though DH thinks i am bonkers).

And we'd like self catering accomodation and no car hire.

Any ideas?

Anywhere in particular? Can you recommend any accomodation?

Thanks- DH has been keen for a while to go there. Is it very pricey?

It is expensive because of the Euro but really beautiful and a short flight.

Puerto Pollensa, northern Mallorca. Try the self catering Bellesregard. Just returned - fab.
