Does anyone still take travellers cheques to Europe?

Going to Spain for a fortnight and was thinking of taking half TC's and half cash for spends.

Went last year just for a week and just took cash. We used the in room safe to keep it in.

Any thoughts or advice please?

Do you have a cash card - you will need to check charges but we just get money out of the wall as required

We always take cash and our nationwide card too plus a back up card just in case one happens to get swallowed by a cash machine or something!
