Im going on a trip to London during Childrens theatre week with my dd and sister we are looking to do the tourist thing and a bit of shopping. I usually go through booking.com which has been fine in the past but does anyone have anywhere they have loved suitable for a 12 year old and two 40 somethings? :0

I haven't been but... Baden Powel House (yes, the scouts!) has a hotel in it (not tents or bunk beads, as far as I know!) and it is slapbang next to the Natural History (and so the V&A, Science museum, Kensingron gardens, High Street Kensington, Harrods...). Cheep 'n cheerful I hear.

There is a Permier Travel Inn at County Hall, which is on the South Bank next to The Eye. I tried to link you to their site but it's having problems at the moment.

Thanks all! Have been scanning all suggestions particularly interested in the premier inn hotels as I have just stayed in one near Dover and was very impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of it. I'll keep researching and let you all know.

Yes it's very clean and seems comfortable. Had friends who stayed there and they really liked it.

Hi I've booked my hotel! Have chosen the premier inn in Kings cross which is slap bang in the middle of everything. Costa cofee next door and restaurants on every corner. Fingers crossed its ok. Very cheap too only 331 quid for three of us for three nights which is about 200 quid cheaper than everywhere else. So thanks dastardlyand smugly for the tip much appreciated!
