Any tips for November with a tiny baby?

I want to go on holiday in November with my family, and as a former backpacker and activity holiday fanantic am not really very up to speed with where might be good with kids. Older child will be 3, and baby will be 2-3 months old.

I want somewhere;

  • warm but not scorching (family of gingers!)
  • pretty and relaxing.
  • malaria-free.

So Europe is out. Wondering about the Caribbean, or Maldives. Any suggestions?

Self-catering apartment/duplex in Florida, somewhere pretty, eg Miami, the Keys. The weather is gorgeous that time of year, the beaches are golden and sandy and its not full of chavvy Brit tourists like Orlando/Disneyland is. Lots of those sorts of places are near golfcourse complexes so the roads are quiet (many only allow golfcarts to be driven on them) and theres a bit of a community feel. We had a ball with our 10 month old, we rented a place near Naples, with a pool. Lots of places will also be able to get hold of a decent travel cot / highchair / etc so you dont need to transport it.

My experience so far is 4 hours is enough with a youngster - DS1 was nearly 4 when we went on our first family holiday and DS2 7 months. Its a long time for a child to sit still and you know if there will handle it. ANd for me it was long enough with the baby on and off my lap. I always recommend somewhere not too far from a good hospital too as there always seems to be a drama!

Tenerife is great but little culture, high standards very excellent hotels. Novemeber was hot last year. You can travel about too.

Egypt is also a good shorthaul but not pretty and personally a bit risky with the deli-belly. I was looking at the Savoy AI.

Then Tunisa and Morocco would also be a good chose too. Good for culture!

I'm still looking for a holiday in November too. We like fantastic food and some form of childcare/clubs. Tenerife is still coming back as tops but can be very pricy.

Cyprus?

I would be in the UK myself with a new baby (but that's just me).

Otherwise any of the Canaries.
