Hello all

I've seen this place recommended and checked it out. It looks amazing and I wondered if it really is that good? Is the childcare good? If you've been did you trust the people enough? I've an 18 month old and not sure how I feel about leaving him with strangers but my partner and I really do need a break after a rough year or so.

Any more recommendations for toddler friendly beach hols gratefully received. My brief is no cooking, no cleaning, sun, some rest (so some childcare), 2 weeks (twin centre?) and ideally shortish flight time.

Thanks!

I haven't done mark Warner but know people to have been, most recently last summer and they really enjoyed it and were very happy with the childcare, esp in the evenings when they were able to eat alone a few times.

We have done Sunsail which is similiar (and we were very happy) and would try neilson who do the same also if we had the money. All have british-trained staff who do their childcare, all have resorts in Greece or Turkey.

For all of them look for free child places in term time, they're much more affordable and its not as hot to go in June or Sept as well.

We went there 2 years ago and had a brilliant holiday. We were Mark Warner novices and thought the food amazing, the staff brilliant, beach brilliant etc etc, however there were some MW veterans who said it used to be better value - i.e. free drinks included etc.

But we had the best time and would recommend

Thanks so much for your feedback. I'm getting rather desperate, going round in circles with it all!

Kiwinyc - I'll now research Sunsail and Neilson.

Ladyblablah - did you find there was a cafe or taverna down the beach where you could buy beer/icecreams etc much cheaper? I hate the idea of being trapped and ripped off for an inc cream! Did you have a family room and if so how was that?

Thanks!

Some of the hotels/resorts for all these companies are near a town, they usually say if they're within walking distance or you should ask. Some are miles away and you need to take a taxi or bus to get there. I would definitely choose a location within walking distance of a town/village as the cost of drinks, water, snacks etc can really build up and be quite considerable by the end of the holiday.

I'd also see how long/far the transfer is, because you don't want to have to sit on a hot coach with your toddler for several hours either.

We have done Sunsail, Mark Warner and Neilson. All have been good but feel MW standards have slipped in recent years. The kids preference is Neilson - staff are more enthusiastic and seem more "genuine" than the others both on the beach, in the hotel and in children's clubs.
We are going back to Neilson again this year, trying their new club, which used to be a Sunsail club, Phokaia in Turkey. Really liked Lesvos 2 years ago, short walk to an very pretty beach-side village with great restaurants and bars.
