Spending a Saturday in Aberdeen 4yo and 1yo, no car, what can we do?

Can any Aberdeen ladies advise me? We'll be coming into Aberdeen on the sleeper next Sat morning, going out on the Orkney ferry at 5pm. We'll have DS1 (4.5yrs) and DS2 (13 months) and massive rucksacks but no car (so going out of town is not really very easy).

What can we do all day? Can anyone recommend places with good mooching around potential, where we can while away the hours?

TIA

I don't even know why I said "ladies" there as of course I mean MNers.

Thank you Dittany, looks good for hanging about in.

Would you recommend Satrosphere at all?

Satrosphere has a dinosaur exebition on at the moment. Is great. My DS (4.9) LOVES it.
Or there is the crazy golf / bowling / softplay thing at the beach.

Other than that - if you just want to mooch - it would just be around shops (doubt the children would like that though!)

If it's a nice day - I would head towards the beach. Plenty of places to eat (chain type places) and Satrosphere not far from there.

Thank you MajorPettigrew. Beach sounds like the way to go

suppose you are already up in Orkney, but if you have time on the way back down, the maritime museum might be quite good (and is near harbour/train station). The art gallery is quite good - kids can run round (or at least, I did when I was small!).
the parks are good, but not very near the train station. hope you had fun, whatever you did!
