Things to do around Lake Garda with a nearly 4 year old

Hello!

We are heading off to Lake Garda next week with DD. We are staying on the western side of the lake near Salo.

Would welcome any advice on the best things to do with children of this age. Are already planning to take a boat trip, and possibly the train from Desanzano to Verona (have already been to Venice.) We have a car. We have had a look at the Gardaland website, which I am sure she would love - but its 85 euros for the 3 of us, and I am fairly sure theres a lot of rides she couldn't go on.

TIA

we stayed there for a cple of summers in a row - try using the ferries to go to the various villages. Malcesine has a stairlift up to the mountains - not much up there (freezing) just a cafe but nice to do. we stayed in garda which is tiny but tbh they just loved trekking round to the gelateria and stuff. I think Riva has a ruined castele - fab at the moment but incredibly dangerous with a small child to go up so wdn't risk it with a small one. Paddling is nice, and clean, and we had lots of pizza a taglio rather than restaurants. BTW Starbucks has spoilt you for coffee - weirdly i hated the proper Italian latte!

Ooh I got engaged in Sirmione.

go at night when it is all lit up.

DH is there atm and he has taken the boys with him and they are off to Gardaland today.

I think it might be worth a look at Gardaland as there is a Seaworld with dolphins which your dd would obv love.

Mooch around markets, people watch while you drink cappuccino. Bliss!

There is a safari park near Lazise which is good, www.parconaturaviva.it.

Gardaland used to do an evening ticket which was cheaper, not sure if they still do it. It's lovely there in the evening, much quieter and cooler.
