We are looking to go away with our DDs (16 & 13)and have decided that a holiday camp sort of place would be best. DDs would like to be near a beach and have a 'club' to hang around with other teens.

DH and I like to go out and about, not just stuck on a beach/near a pool.

I've been trawling the Net and can't decide whether to stay in the UK or go abroad. We are looking at the last week of July/first week of August (either 7, 10 or 14 days). Budget around £1000 - £1500 but don't want to go anywhere that's full of chavs

So come on wise Mumsnetters where shall we go?

I prefer not to use the term/word chav. But anyway...

I think that with the budget you have you are being rather optimistic even for 7 days if you want somewhere "upmarket"

Could you not just buy larger baseball caps and keep them pulled down low so you wouldn't see any undesirables?

Ime avoid Pontins/Butlins and especially Haven. That doesn't leave you with many holiday type camp options.

You can get a week in a tent at Union Lido, Lido di Jesolo/Venice for £830 with Eurocamp. If you can get cheap Easyjet flights, the coach picks up outside the airport and is cheap.

Eurocamp do a teens club thing, there is entertainment, lots of activities at Union Lido and it is close to a big Aquapark and Venice etc.
