Am looking to book for next yr early to get any child places - ideally all inclsive as expect euro will be sky high. Will have 4 and 8 yr old and have never been to Menorca before. Where did you go and can recommend? A good nights sleep is essential as is near to a good sandy beach and cleanliness and great food and a big pool that gently slopes with lenty of room for non swimming children. See i dont ask for much. Oh finally all in same room but seperate bedrooms as i cant be doen with sleeping on sofa beds - interconnextign rooms considered. Tell me about your hols to menorca please . ALso not a resort that only has 1 bar and 1 shop. Is it safe to drive if hired a car?

My friend has just come back from Punta Prima (think thats right spelling). It has good reviews on trip advisor. First Choice and Sovereign go there. Very child friendly also AI option.

ok herb i have questions for you as i like the look of that having revisited trip advisor. Is the big pool suitable for non swimmers eg does it have a shallow bit or is it just the tiny pool i can see on pics? Also for a family of 4 is there option of interconnecting rooms or twin rooms or is it all a sofa bed and bedroom job? I dont mind me and hubs on sofa bed as long as we can have kids in own room iyswim.

Any more comments welcome as im a bit picky lol.

We are going ai. Usually go sc but with the exchange rate it is cheaper for us to go ai.

Cala Galdana and Santo Thomas are my favourite resorts but Galdana is abit hilly (abit more going in here though). Santo thomas is quiet but there are plenty of bars and kids discos etc and fabulous beach.

mangoandlime · 13/06/2010 17:42

Just back from Santo Tomas, 3 bed apartment, beach v short walk away, short transfer time, very clean, fab childrens' splash pool with sloping to nothing sides, (suitable for the smallest child), small slides etc. Quiet resort, just made for families. No rowdy behaviour at all. Very well kept, a few restaurants, light evening entertainment.

highly recommend Santo Tomas, we'll be going back!

cala galdana is really nice with a beautiful beach. Stayed in a family room (for 4) in a self catering hotel, (Floremar) which was up a short hill from the resort. It was really spacious and one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. Lots of nice restaurants etc nearby.
