Hi we have booked with ryanair, and checked in last night online. Does anybody know if our seats are allocated when we check in online or is it done on the day that we are travelling. We havent flown with them before and usually reserve our seats. Thankyou.

It's a free for all basically. Seats aren't allocated at all. You have to make a run for it.

We've always paid extra for priority boarding - it's 3 or 4 pounds per person but well worth it for us, as I'm often flying on my own with the DC and we'd be the last to board the plane in a free for all as they're not the fastest of walkers. I'm pretty sure that for one flight we didn't pay for priority boarding until we checked in at the airport - I know you don't check in any more, just drop off your baggage, but you still might be able to pay for it then if you want to.

You can pay for priority boarding at the airport. It's a bit more expensive. Chances are that if you don't pay for it you will be one of the last on the plane, and will probably struggle to get a seat together.
