Child friendly caves in the Peak District?

We are off on holiday next week to the Peak District (near Bakewell). Hurrah!

DS (5) wants to see some caves. Are there any particular child-friendly recommendations? I know there are lots to choose from, but I don't want one that is too dark and scary for a five year old with a nervous disposition, and also we will have a two year old in a buggy.

Also any other ideas for good days out are very welcome!

Heights of Abraham caves at Matlock are just right. You access them by cable car (very dramatic) and they are just part of a big park setting at the top of a hill. Plenty of play areas and ice cream stalls too.

Agree with serin, Heights of Abraham v. good fun. Not great buggy terrain, obviously, and you'll have to ditch it on the tour of the caves but perfectly doable with your dc. Wear sensible shoes. We picnicked but cafe looked nice (if busy) and has great views.

Of course you're not far from Gullivers there but I haven't been so don't know if it's any good.

Have a fab time .
