Hi Looking for a theme park type place to take go to anywhere within 3 hours of London is fine with us. What are the good ones for young children?

We're SW of London, and we like Paultons Park (near Southampton) because it has lots for younger children.

Also, a little further away, just outside Bournemouth, Adventure Wonderland is completely geared towards younger children and my two (now 4 and 6) still love it.

Legoland Windsor? All mine love it.

Thanks everyone. I'll check them out. Has anyone been to Drayton Manor, I thought it looks fairly small child friendly from the web?

I was waiting for Lego land for in the summer as a present as it is one that I know they want to go to.

Gullivers World is supposed to be good for small children but I have never been to any apart from Legoland.

Chessington might be suitable too?

Will all of these places be totally crazy with people tomorrow???

Yes, Bank Holiday weekend will be Crazy Days at theme parks I feel.
Legoland was pretty busy yesterday, so I guess some schools must have had inset days then. Today, Sun and Mon will be worse I expect.

I may go to Chessington on Sunday... though I may see if the child I take will consider something different.

Do your children really want a themepark? If not really... then perhaps consider something like Fort Nelson which this weekend (Sunday and Monday) are doing "A day of demonstrations and re-enactments, culminating in a spectacular Napoleonic battle as Redcoats and greenjackets try to stop the French from running the tricolour up Fort Nelson?s flagpole!" Fort Nelson is usually Free though this special event is charged (Adult £5, Child £2.50, Family of A+2C £12).
