I've been recommended some hotels in Croatia and think its really up and coming...some smart hotels.

We like good food within local so that we can wonder out, not trapped in a resort.

Do you get exclusive high standards but cheaper than spain or Italy.

Is it Euro, and is it reasonable? Any one been AI that is exceptional value?

It isn't in the euro zone as yet. Very good hotels and nice food, I would say marginally cheaper than Spain and Italy. Not been AI but went fullboard at the falkensteiner in Zadar (diadora not borik which looked frightful!)

Hi, we were looking to go to Bol and Brela self catering in Aug. Did a fair bit of research and though these destinations look fab, couldnt find affordable accomadation. We were looking for a decent s/c apartment with shared pool but no apartments seem to have pools and couldnt find an affordable villa in the towns (we didnt want to hire a car). I think if you are happy to stay in a hotel and share a room it should be fine.

We decided to wait til DS and DD are older to go- so still searching for characterful beach hol for August! That will be hot but not tooo hot! Any ideas? Looked at Lake Bled in Slovenia but think it will be too cold.
