Driving from London to St Ives Cornwall

with a 3 year old ds in the back. Can anyone suggest good places to stop where he can get out and let off some steam? We are from NW London.

Also any suggestions on entertainment? So far my only idea is those book cds where they can look at the pictures while the cd tells the story or just straight music/story cds.

have you thought about leaving at bed time for ds and hopefully sleep all the way there? hope that helps a bit

Would steer away (?!) from anything involving too much looking down, as the only time our 3-yr old DS has been travel sick was when looking at DPs iPod. Although we've coined the phrase "been watching too much Percy" (as in Thomas the Tank) to express general malaise ever since...

Stonehenge is pretty amazing and just off the A303. You cannot go inside it anymore, which is a shame. Also might be crowded.

Stonehenge Down is behind the car park - big field of buttercups and daisies with ancient earthwork mounds at the top for the runaround bit.

Music and story CDs are best.

Thanks for the suggestions. No to bedtime (which is 8pm). I really don't fancy driving when I'm tired so it'll be 7.30am on a Sunday morning.
