Hi does anyone know how unaffected flights from gatwick are regarding the strikes etc? flying in july and BA is the only airline flying direct to my destination. The website states all flights from gatwick operate normally, would love to know why so as to give me some peace of mind.....two children in two with me as well!
thanks

BA's Gatwick-based employees are on a different contract to the LHR ones, so are not part of the strike. They are already on a more modern contract.

BA's Gatwick operated flights will continue to run as normal.

MMeTB is right. was discussing this yesterday with DH (we are due to fly with them back to the UK next month into LHR) Its bloody stupid really that the LHR lot are behaving like this when their more sensible colleagues at LGW are being realistic about the whole thing and accepted their new terms and conditions a few years ago.

Would be great if BA could transfer more fights to LGW but I guess they can't get the slots. Would be fab for us as our UK home is 5 mins from LGW and its a pain having to fly into LHR and drive round.

mum2009 hope you have a fab holiday

Thanks m/overseas.That's good reassurance.I really hope nothing happens to mess it up,esp since they recorded such huge losses.
I really hope things work out next mth for you and all this hullabuloo is sorted out.

All Caribbean routes are from Gatwick. Operating normally. Were never affected in last strikes either.

Why don't BA fly from LGW to the Middle East? would make my life so much easier
