Take car seat or hire in portugal?

i'm going to portugal in a few days and we'll probably hire a car for a few days when we're there. Should we take ds's (he's 4) car seat with us or can we hire a car with childseat in portugal?

When hiring a car (if you doing it online) it usually gives you the option of asking for a childseat - we did this last year and it was about 30 euros extra for about 10 days - we found it easier to do this than lugging car seat - but just ask car hire comopany, and you might need to let them know so that they have one availalbe for you.

Take booster seat...a heck of a lot cheaper than shelling out 30 or 40 euros extra.

just had a thougth about taxis too - we'll need to take booster anyway won't we if we go in a taxi?

We hired a booster and a forward facing chair when we went, cheap as chips and couldn't fault the quality

No, you do not need a child seat / booster when travelling in a licensed taxi.

we had to buy a new one in the supermarket in portugal last year. It was about 9 euros and was nicer than our old one.
