Taking booster seats abroad

Going on a virgin flight tomorrow morn & we are taking the kids booster seats with us for the car when we arrive. Do we check them into the hold or take them to the gate?! Are they ok loose or are you meant to pack them in a bag etc?! Help lol! Thanks!

We put ours in the hold (not with Virgin admittedly) and lost them! I'd be tempted to take them to the gate - certainly pack them in a bag if they are going in the hold to have more chance of seeing them at your destination.

I put ours in the suitcase.

I'm in the minority. DD's goes into the hold and we've never had a problem. Her car seat has visited Australia, Vietnam, Cambodia, UK, Spain........ we are clearly lucky ducks.
