hello, posting this in desperation for help!
left dd1's favourite teddy in this resort last week. phoned hotel reception who confirmed they have him, but refuse to send him, even if i pay postage...they are willing to hold on to him in case i find someone to collect him though.
dd very upset and missing him badly, can anyone help?
i would of course pay the postage, just need someone to pop him in their suitcase and bring him back to uk.
in case anyone wondering, this is not a joke!
thanks for reading.

I'm going but not until August and I'm guessing you don't really want to wait that long. But if you don't find anyone else before that I'll gladly bring him home with me.

QOD · 18/05/2010 20:06

ack.
COntact the holiday reps at the resort? Thomas Cook go there - just call the desk and ask to speak to the Thomas COok rep??? Yhey usually call in on set days & times.
WHo did you book through?
ask them to sort it - say you know how wonderful they are as you usually holiday there?

missymum · 18/05/2010 20:10

really wordgirl, that would be fantastic, i think if she knows he is coming back she will cope better, no matter how long the wait, but as you say if someone is going sooner, that would be brilliant of course...should i cat you near time if no joy on here? ( ps dont know if you have been to lykia before but is fab...)

Bumping for you! Hope you find someone who can do it.

Perhaps try a travel forum? Or Netmums too?

wordgirl · 18/05/2010 20:33

Bumping again for anyone lucky enough to be going before August.
missymum, we went to Lykia World last year so I know how fab it is and am really excited about going back.

Nefret · 18/05/2010 21:33

Try posting on Holiday Truths, they have a long post about Lykia world on there at the moment:

Or Trip Advisor:

you may find someone going soon.

Good luck x

I've just looked at Lykia world- it looks bleddy gorgeous, no wonder teddy decided to stick around for a bit!

I want to go now, but no bookings being taken at the moment . Hopefully it's because they're all booked up by Teddy rescuers!

My mum's going to Olu Deniz at the end of June, if you haven't had a result by then.

In about 1989ish, I left my Gordon the Gopher under the bed in a hotel in Cala Millor, Majorca. Thomson had him brought back for the princely sum of £15 and made me very happy (so my mum says).

isthatporridgeinyourzone · 19/05/2010 19:56

Going to Lykia World on the 28th. I can rescue teddy!

QOD · 19/05/2010 20:00

HOORAY FOR isthatporridge!

(stresshead - £15?????? bloody hell that was LOADS in 1989!)

I paid 16 Euros to get Chucky the dog back from France last year........ grrrrr

missymum · 19/05/2010 20:09

Isthatporridge...... Massive unmumsnetty hugs! Am so so grateful if you are happy to do this... How nest to contact you from this point to give you bit more info? I will obviously ring lykia to tell them to release him ..... Thanks again!
