Do such things exist or is that just wishful thinking?

They do exist,- but you have to book way ahead. We have booked 8-11 months ahead on three occasions in the past to secure one!
A friend managed to get two free child places for her holiday to italy last year!! Dont know how she managed it,- just luck i guess.
Also, the cut off age for many child places is 12.
This year's holiday is sorted, booked last october but We are looking now for next year's one and possibly for a week in the half term for this october.
good luck.

Thanks for replying. My mum's looking at taking us all on a cruise for her 60th in 2012. She's starting to look now so hopefully she'll get some free places once they go on sale. She always cruises so I guess she knows what she's doing. She books ages ahead too.

look at msc where children are pretty much always free, i think there are other companies that do this too. they also have sales (about twice a year) where the second adult is £1 so keep an eye out.
