Interconnecting rooms, smart beach hotels?

I see so many so called "family friendly" hotels advertised but stuggle to find many with interconnecting rooms.

No more than 4 hrs flight and smart hotels. Pref the Med. Have 1 year old and 4 year old and never fussed sharing a room.

Seen some nice ones but before I waste anytime I'd like some recommendations please.

Anthelia, tenerife www.iberostar.com/minisites/anthelia/ . Fantastic, heated swimming pool and kids club!
We went there for Xmas.

Go to Mark Warner, San Agostino, Greece and get interconnecting bungalows. Really lovely for small children and Mumsnet get 7% discount.

Thanks gordonpym but just came back from the Anthelia last November and loved it. Had fab ground level rooms opposite the grill. The interconnecting rooms worked amazing and just really want the same but greece/Italy/Majorca. Surely someone must of been somewhere in smart holidays with the children not sharing????

yes I know we had a great time too. Maybe another Iberostar hotel in the Baleares? There is a family hotel ( something like a mini eurodisney!) in Lanzarote, called princess Yazia or something like that which we may try this summer.

this has children's bedroom.

I've seen the Forte Village before - but is it too highly priced?

Thanks for the other links - the ones for Croatia have you been and is it fantastic?

Yes the Forte Village is in the upper budget range, but very family friendly.

orienteerer · 24/05/2010 11:39

Some friends went to the first one I linked to and enjoyed it.

hollypocks · 24/05/2010 21:16

We are going to the Diadora in Croatia on Sunday - will report bacl!

hollypocks · 07/06/2010 22:37

Was lovely, excellent facilities and room superb, best we have stayed in out of Asia. Great spa and sports amenities. Only issue was lack on English speaking children

orienteerer · 08/06/2010 19:54

Thanks for the feedback hollypocks, I'll add it to my list.

Sardinia Chia Laguna

BeenBeta · 09/06/2010 21:02

Just been to Club Med in Opio just inland from Nice.

Was dubious about a package holiday before we went (normally go to up market hotels) but far far exceeded our expectations. Very good value kids club, great facilities, sports/golf ,and food was outstanding and all on a fixed budget.

Pretty good evening entertainment too for adults - but we just went to bed.

Thanks rookimater & BeenBeta

Have a look at the Abama hote, Anthelia park iberostar and Gran Melia hotels in Tenerife.
I know they all have inerconnecting rooms.

HarrogateMum · 10/06/2010 12:21

just came back from Sheraton in Fuerteventura, we were in a king bed in one room, kids in twin plus camp bed (3) in interconnecting room. Absolutely fab.

2 bedroom Family Suites at the Gloria Golf Hotel or Terrace Family Rooms at the Susesi Hotel or Duplex Family Rooms and Family Suites at the Royal Dragon Hotel ... all in the Antalya region of Turkey.

gladders · 21/06/2010 13:01

yup. princesa yaiza in playa blanca lanzarote - perfect for kids that age as has playground and 2 paddling type pools for littlies.

all rooms are suites - either 1 bed (where kids sleep on sofa beds/cots in the lounge) or 2 bed ones. we book through sovereign as has always been the bext price.
