Sterilising abroad

Hello, has anyone any advice about sterilising bottles abroad? We are off to Spain in a couple of weeks, first time abroad with 5 month dd. We are staying in a hotel for 3 days and then in a bungalow/chalet on a campsite. Was thinking about the mircowave sterilising bags but no microwave! Any ideas anyone? Thanks

when we went to spain last yr ds was 5mths so we took cold water sterilising tablets so could just sterilise in the sink over night then rinse out in morning and do frech bottles. You also have the option of disposable sterile bags but the tablets worked out cheaper for us.

do you have a microwave where you are staying lindam do some sterilising bags. or you can get bags to fill with water and sterilising solution, try boots and get some advice from the staff there they should know.

Hi, i bf dd so didn't need to do this. But i know someone once suggested to me taking sterelising tablets, and buy a bucket when you get there, which you can then leave behind when you come home. Just disolve the tablets in water in bucket, and a makeshift lid, hey presto! Sounds like a good idea so you can save space in your luggage.

meant to say we got a plastic wash bowl to go into sink not just sink itself..think the bowl cost about £1 when over there.

I think I stopped sterilising at around 5 months once everything was going in his mouth anyway!!

I found steribags and tablets a real pain. I have 2 travel sterilisers (one brand new) - about £10 from Tesco. Thoroughly recommend them - they do 2 bottles at once in about 8 mins. Don't need them any more so if you cat me with your address I'll gladly stick one in the post for you tomorrow. Not big to pack.

Just read your post properly. Would recommend Mothercare sterilising bags on a campsite (take some tongs) but you're still welcome to a steriliserxx

Are you using cartons or powder with boiled water?

Thanks everyone. I'll be using the powder to make up her feeds. My dad is driving across so gonna load his car up (he doesn't actually know yet!!) Was going to get in the cartons of ready made but much more expensive. I can see this is going to be a nightmare... why can't my brother get married in this country?!
