Can't believe Legoland is shut next week - where else for a day out?

2nd time this year I've promised to take DD to Legoland only to realise a couple of days beforehand that its not open. FFS, its May, not January! We had been planning to go on Tuesday and it ain't open. It is open tomorrow but no way am I going on a BH.

What's Drayton Manor like?

If she likes Thomas the Tank Engine, she'll be fine. Many of the rides other than that are more suitable for older children. On the plus side, queues are nowhere near as long as at Legoland. Some of the stuff is looking a little dated now.

We've been to Drayton Manor a couple of times, but then DS is a Thomas fan, and DD (10) now goes on some of the slightly bigger rides.

DD is 9, I'm thinking she may be a bit old for Thomas and a bit young for the bigger rides. Bloody Legoland, I'm not suprised the queues are so bad as they must only open about 12 days a year.

Gullivers is shut as well! Chessington does look good, have just been looking at the website with DD but she says she thinks she'd rather go to Cleethorpes and go in the arcades and then go to Legoland another day. I'm not going to argue as it'll be cheaper! Think she'll have to have a sickie off school one day in June/July as no more teacher training days now.

A good option as its nearer- though my dd did really enjoy Drayton manor and its very easy to get to.
Give me a shout about Sacrewell and we can book pitches with hook up .

Paultons is too far away, I'm in East Midlands. We're going to New Forest in the Summer though so will see about a visit then.
