Help - where do we go with a three year old?

We would like to go on a short haul holiday with our DD.

We think that Menorca or Portugal would suit us.

We would like a "aparthotel" so that we can do self-catering and eating out plus have the hotel entertainment of an evening.

Please can I have your recommendations - as I really don't know where to start!

Portugal will not be cheap, and petrol is more expenise than the uk. take plenty of spending money. fab beaches and usualy good weather.

where are you flying to?

Menorca was lovely when we went, and our dd was similar age to yours. We stayed at Hotel Princessa Playa, near Cala n bosch, but they have appartments on the same site too. The pool was fantastic, food excellent- appartment people could come in for meals whenever they wanted, and just have it onto their bill, the beach was 2 minutes walk- beautifully clean, and warm sea.
Entertainment was fun (didn't go every night, but magic show and chinese acrobats were good)

Depends what time of year you are going and whether you want plenty of sunshine. It can be pretty chilly in Majorca up until June... they had snow at easter

We tend to go to Canaries with ds who is 3 next week - we always go in May, which means you are more or less certain of good weather - would hate to go somewhere and be cold

We're going to Portugal next week for a fortnight - booked an aparthotel with kids club a way back from the beach so not in the middle of the busy bits. This will be the first time for three years we haven't gone AI, actually looking forwrd it - I know it'll be more expensive but the freedom is better I think. I am beyond excited

Thank you for your responses and I've looked at the two hotel/apartments mentioned and they both look fab, so trying to persuade my DH to make a decision!
