Hi
Had a skiing accident 3 weeks ago which left me on crutches (ligament sprain).

Am due to fly to Norway on Saturday with Ryanair. Will they let me? Is there anything I need to do to make them let me? Will I need statement from GP to fly?
Help!

ok here...

My son dislocated his knee 4 days before we flew with Ryanair to Austria.

We had to get a certificate of fitness to travel

Book wheelchairs at both ends at each airport (Ryanair rules)

Book two extra seats on each flight as they would only take him on crutches sat sideways across three seats - fortunately teh travel ins paid for these!, they cost more than the 6 seats had originally put together

Then at the airport he got free priority boarding and a cordoned off row of seats at the front of the plane, and was taken off the plane after everyone else

He didnt have a pot on, just a brace on his leg

But you need to ring ryanair asap!

have you vanished, lol!

no still there. hadn't run off
thanks for the advice.
i will give them a ring tomorrow. and will get the physiotherapist to write me a fit-to-fly note.
we are going for dh's dad's memorial service, so cannot (and do not want to) cancel. not looking forward to booking extra seats though, will see if i can get out of that.

They may not accept it from the physio. Ours had to be the Consultant. Can you bend your leg?

Honneybunny · 29/04/2010 20:35

hi thanks again.
called ryanair today, went amazingly smoothly. got through after 10 rings to a real person!! and only spent about 5 minutes on the phone.
as i can bend my leg fine (can actually not stretch it) i did not need to book extra seats.
i have wheelchair on both sides there and back.
will be last to go onto the plane, with dh and dc-s sitting near. brilliant!
let's hope it will all go as smoothly as suggested by the man on the phone.
fingers crossed...
