Stop-over hotel around Paris but not IN Paris IYSWIM?

Can anyone recommend a stop-over hotel in the area of Paris which would mean that we don't actually have to go into Paris and deal with the traffic?

We will be enroute to our holiday home in the Loire and have to stop after the ferry for a night. Will be coming into Zeebrugge, so need somewhere around Paris, I am guessing.

We would prefer not to drive into Paris and get entangled in the traffic. We did a Parisian holiday last year so have no need to spot the Eiffel Tower or anything.
What we would ideally like is a smallish town that we could wander around at night and find a nice restaurant (first night in France ooooh). We just need a hotel for one night (Dss will be 16 and 7 if that is helpful so no need for baby-friendly hotel)

If anyone has any recommendations I would be very grateful.

Try Accor Hotels

You can look on the map, or programme in your route and select a hotel en route. I love Novotels myself. They do family rooms, free brekkie for dcs and mostly have pools and playgrounds. Booking in advance you can get some good all in deals with dinner, b&b etc.

oh Wow. That is really a useful site - allowing me to plan the whole route and then telling me what hotels are on the way.
