Need to hire a van in which the passenger airbag can be disabled

I need to hire a van to collect some furniture from my cousin's house and need to be able to transport my little one with me. He's 4 months old and is in a rear-facing car seat but all the van hire companies I've contacted don't have vans in which the passenger airbag can be disabled. Am I right in thinking that it's very dangerous to have a rear facing car seat in the front if the airbag is still active? Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what did you do?

yes it is super dangerous to have a rf seat with the airbag on. not sure about vans that you can switch it off though! maybe a van old enough not to have a passenger airbag?!

peugeot and renault have the airbag switch off as standard on all their cars so maybe the vans too.
