Any recommendations for two Bumpkins up from the country next weekend (Fri eve til Sun lunchtime).
This is a long anticipated get together with my best friend (we live 300 miles apart). Will be staying at a hotel on Aldwych and have theatre tickets for Sat eve. We are both in our 40's, and looking for interesting places to eat, shop, and maybe absorb some culture.Any markets that shouldn't be missed? Would really like a recommendation for pre-theatre dinner on Sat. as I guess it may be wise to pre-book.

What theatre are you going to, and where is it?

The Savoy, Covent Garden

Traditional pre/post theatre food in that area is Joe Allen's.

If you want to splurge, might be worth checking out The Ivy too. It will be impossible to get into post-theatre, but I have had good luck getting in for an early meal before theatre. Definitely reserve though.
