An hour ahead

princesspeahead · 30/06/2003 17:54

oh dear

10 o'clock
And not just in summer.
Clocks throughout Europe now change from winter to summer time &VV on the same days as GB (30th March and 26th October in 2003).

janh · 30/06/2003 18:27

They shouldn't be different - it's just les Français being stroppy as usual - "we will have whatever time we want (so there)!"

Frenchgirl · 30/06/2003 18:56

jahn, don't you like us little frogs then?

aloha · 30/06/2003 19:49

I wish we were like them, actually. The day the clocks go back is terrible. I hate the sudden dark evenings, I really do.

janh · 30/06/2003 20:01

Sorry, Frenchgirl, I do love little froggies really (and won't mention legs) ! I agree with aloha, it would be nice if we did it too, BUT I remember when they tried it here - c 1968 - I lived in W London and it was still dark at 9am, imagine what it was like in Scotland! (And there are more pedestrian traffic accidents on dark mornings than dark evenings - think kids going to school - this way there is around an hour fairly light both before and after school.)

France can get away with it because they are further south - they get longer winter days.

Frenchgirl · 30/06/2003 20:21

you definitely would not like my legs jahn, I don't like them either (who invented cellulite?!!!)

lilibet · 30/06/2003 20:26

thank you!!
