Any Belgian MNetters around? Looking for a hotel near Namur

I will be driving from Geneva to Amsterdam in August and looking to stop somewhere between Luxembourg and Brussels.

According to my map, Namur is about 700km from here, and I would not like to drive more than that in a day.

I will be travelling with 2 DC, 8yo and 6yo and a small dog and would prefer not to go too far off the motorway.

It would be nice to be in a town or village so that we could have a wander in the evening.

Han sur Lesse and Rochefort spring to mind. Not too far from the E411 and both reasonably pleasant little places. There is an Ibis I think on the riverside in Namur with the all important parking. I would at booking.com, and do it a bit in advance as the Ardennes tends to get a bit chokker in holiday time. Haven't stayed anywhere particular to recommend.

I'm only 45 mins from Namur though so you are always welcome to come stay with me! I have room. And wine!

Thanks, Portofino, will have a look at the Ibis.

Don't really want to go so far off the road, as I will have a long drive anyway, but thank you so much for the offer.

I'm not in the sticks, but 5 mins from the Brussels ring. Might be further than you wanted to drive though. Maybe Madascheese will give me a write up in the review section

PS - looking at your Italy photos today - your dog is SOOO cute!
