I am looking for a nice and relaxing place to stay at for the May Bank Holiday weekend, within 1-2h train ride from London. Since it would be just me (by then 7 months pregnant) and DD (3yrs), I'm looking for a smallish family style place, either B&B, self-catering studio or small hotel.
My preference might be a hotel w/ restaurant so that we have a choice to stay in for dinner if we are too tired to go out. Location secondary as long as it is easily accessible, child-friendly and cosy. Have been looking at places in Whitstable and Broadgate, but the only one I liked was already booked.
It'll be my one chance for a break before No 2 is scheduled to arrive in July, so am prepared to indulge a bit, but within limits (up to GBP 125 per night for the two of us, I'd say).
