Anyone know of good child friendly accommodation in Stockholm? Taking ds on first trip abroad - he will be 15mo. Any other tips on things to do would be very welcome as we know absolutely nothing about the place!

We stayed at the Scandic by the central rail station
It was fine, they had a conference room just off the breakfast area with toys etc

Thanks, I will check it out

That Scandic is very nice. I've stayed at the central Hilton too, which was fine, and convenient for bus routes.

In the summer you can do boat trips around the archipelago which is cool, and the Vasa is well worth a visit - it's kind of like the Mary Rose

Can't help with accommodation but for things to do try Skansen, an open air museum and zoo www.skansen.se/pages/?ID=221.

Those hotels look excellent, feeling a little shocked by the rates however...thankfully we only plan to stay 3 nights and staying with friends in another part of Sweden for the rest of the time.

Sweden is generally expensive but I'm sure you'll have a great time

Yes, it's always expensive, especially in Stockholm. The other hotel I stay in is also pricey (and out of the centre), but on a really nice lake - the Stallmastaregarden. Fabulous food
