DS will be 2.5 in the summer, we want to go on a wee holiday. We live in Scotland. I want to stay in the UK, DH wants to go abroad somewhere sunny.

What good holidays have mumsnetters had with their toddler that they would reccomend?

Crikey, world's your lobster really.

Holidays with toddlers aren't that difficult really. Good balance of things for you, things for DS. happy days!

I'd say look through a few of the holiday brochures for inspiration. I find it much easier flicking through brochures than on the internet when just starting out.

Greece! The Greeks just love kids and nothing has ever been too much trouble from finding a smaller bed, cooking special meals in restaurants, little gifts in shops for the cute blond boy in the buggy. Add lovely clean safe beaches, warm water and sun.We think it's heaven.

Keep it simple. Don't expect to do lots of sightseeing. Toddlers tend to love the water so the beach and/or decent pool is a must. And somewhere nice to stroll in the evening and eat. Most of Europe is very child friendly - no probs in restaurants and lots of playgrounds/merry go rounds dotted about.

When dd was little we went to the South of France a couple of times, to Union Lido in Italy with Canvas (great pools for littlies) and to Sardinia. My only rule is nice weather, nice food, pool. And 2 rooms - so apartment or mobile home with basic cooking facilities. We have always had a great time. Take turns to watch dd in pool whilst the other reads/relaxes. It tires them out so they sleep well!

We went to Siblu Lac des Reves last summer which again has a great pool, and playgrounds. Baby disco is always great fun, and there they do a Toddler club twice a day with activities.
