Had a horrrendous year and booked on spare of the moment a holiday to St Lucia in Oct 2010 and not too sure if we have book the right resort! we have a 13 and 11 year old and have booked coconut bay. We are having difficulty finding out if there is waterskiing, banana boating near by. We have contacted two watersports places near by with no joy.Does anyone have any info. we booked through virgin and they did not know!Should we consider rebooking one of the Almond resorts? many thanks for any suggestions

Hi - I live in St Lucia so ask away! Coconut Bay is great but it's on the Atlantic not the Caribbean side so you don't get the tranquil blue sea you might be expecting. They do have kite surfing there, although I am not sure if it will be running in October as it's out of season (you should be prepared for adverse weather in October, but the weather here has been so strange this year I'm guessing anything could happen!). For the watersports you would definitely be better in the north. I don't know much about the Almond resorts - do you definitely want an All Inclusive? There is also the Rex resorts in Rodney Bay, right in the heart of the action. Or if you don't mind not going AI Bay Gardens Resort is really nice.
