Taxis and babies

I've got a 1 year old and a 2 year old and need to get them to the aiport via taxi. On a package holiday so no need of car seats abroads and really don't think we could carry them anyway. Hate the thought of having to travel without them (30 minute drive to the airport). So how would everyone else manage this situation?

Do you have buggy/s? If it's a black cab, they should have a strap extender they use to secure people in wheelchairs (check when booking taxi). So what you do is put one child (the 2yo) in the buggy, strapped in, then get the buggy strapped in. For the 1yo, in the past I've used a wrap/sling, so baby is secure against me. Need to make sure car seat belt is NOT over baby though, put it above/below as you would with pregnant bump.

Might be worth asking the taxi company if anyone has a car seat though - I found out on one airport trip that someone there had their own old child seat which they were very happy to use for clients.

Hope you get something sorted out.

I live in Herts. Guess I will have to phone round a few taxi companies.

Put your seats in the taxi to go to the airport.
The taxi people can take the seats to their office and store them there until they come to pick you up on your return.
