Recommend a Hotel In New York Please!

We were supposed to go for my 40th but finances wouldn't allow. But we can go now in September. Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay, preferably somewhere fairly central?

Not "central" but we stayed at Millenium Hilton for our honeymoon back in October and loved it. Its right opposite Ground Zero.

Tbh I know it might sound srange but being at one "end" or the other actually helps - we used to get the subway up town to central park or times square or where ever, then walk back seeing stuff on the way.

The Hilton is really handy for subway links, financial district and the Staten Island Ferry.

Really recommend it, it gets great reviews on tripadvisor too.

Hi Chipmonkey! We stayed at the novotel when we went, the rooms we stayed in were basic but clean (8 girls sharing 2 rooms!) and right opposite starbucks and Ellens Stardust Diner! Perfect as we only used the rooms to sleep in really. I'm sure they have nicer rooms, ours were part of a package and so they prob just gave us the cheapest ones.
