I've stayed there! Here is a link to my SILs TripAdvisor review www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g658911-d630402-r30523745-Apartamentos_Roc_Lago_Park-Cala_n_Bo schMinorcaBalearicIslands.html#CHECKRATES_CONT and her sentiments echoed mine exactly. I'd probably go again at a push but there are better (but more expensive) accomodations in that resort.

Good luck1

Thanks Ellebing, that's just what I was looking for!

ElleBing - I see it is quite far from the airport, did you pre-book taxi or was it included in your package deal? If you did it by taxi can i ask how much it cost?
Thanks

Hi Strawberries.

We hired a car from the airport. Menorca is tiny and really easy to drive from the airport to Cala'n Bosch. It's literally one straight, very civilised road. I recommend hiring a car whilst you are there. Usually I hate driving abroad but the Menorcan roads are very good and mostly quiet.

It's about a 40 minute drive from the airport to resort. If you want anything else answering, let me know. I consider myself a bit of a Menorca expert.

StrawberriesAndCherries i have looked at all reviews am my own worst enemy when looking for a holiday, but there was some good ones too,

ElleBing · 06/04/2010 19:02

I would say don;t let the negative press put you off.

There were a few minor complaints granted BUT it's uber-cheap and it's in a fantastic location and has lots of good things going for it. I could be nit-picky but when all's said and done, it's what we could afford at the time and I'd go back without being upset about it If I'm honest, the weather was a bit crap whilst we were there which is probably why I noticed the negatives a bit more, since we had to spend more time in the apartment. It's fine.

StrawberriesAndCherries · 06/04/2010 20:52

It is the only way i can afford to take the dcs away abroad, so it looks pretty good to me! Bit scared of the driving bit though to may email the hotel about getting there - even one straight road scares me a bit!!!

Did you find the food ok there as am tempted to go half board?

when you thinking of going?

ElleBing · 06/04/2010 21:26

I only did B&B so I don't know about lunch/dinner. Breakfast was lovely though with lots of spanish/french things even though the guests were mainly English/Irish.

StrawberriesAndCherries · 07/04/2010 17:01

trace2 I have to chat with dcs schools next week, but end of year would be good, how about you?

Thanks Ellebing i think b an b would be best for us too, it gives you more options and it looks like there are plenty of restaurants around the resort.

trace2 · 07/04/2010 17:22

maybe end june , july! i have heard there's loads of good restaurants around, i love eating at different places , we have done all inclusive but don't really suit me.

StrawberriesAndCherries · 19/04/2010 11:07

Ellebing - is it worth going in late October? Have been advised, and weather info looks like it's not too hot - late 60s- at that time. Have you found that?
