After several wild goose chases - changing plans again and again - due to myOH work commitments - he has now had a change of contract so we are able to squeeze in a week in Crete at end of school hols after all. Have been looking a lot at elounda but I now have pounding headache after reading mixed reviews about various apartments!! Is trip advisor a good thing - I rely on it far too much. Anyway - Manos Apartments on the beach at elounda seem to get decent reviews. I am just worried whether it might be a bit noisy. Ideally we would really like family friendly apartment - no entertainment required - nice pool, small bar serving drinks snacks for poolside and whilst I enjoy the company people from UK I dont want it to be too British! Sorry if this is bit longwinded but I need to make a decision soon and then I can get on with rest of my life !!

Anyone been to Manos apts please? Otherwise anybody been to any apts elounda which meet my criteria - Help Please

We are independent estate agents, with an office in Elounda, Crete. In response to your post, I can tell you Manos would certainly be regarded as "british" orientated.

Despite being Greek owned, the clients are overwhelmingly British. Having said that Michaelis and Necatrios are good hosts and the facilities are good , modern and clean.

The Olive Grove apartments located in the Square in Elounda are of a better quality, and fewer units, but cost a little bit more !

Alternatively, you can find good villas for around 1500 Euros a week, which will give you more privacy !

In repect of Corfu, Kassiopi is a truly beautiful resort, and close to soem excellent family friendly beaches. For more upmarket, head to Agios Stephanos.

Of course, you coudl always head to Kefalonia !

If you wanted more advice, we can be found on our website location location location .eu or search google for locationlocationlocation elounda

Good luck and enjoy your holiday!

thnak you so much for the advice. i had looked again at Manos apt reviews and seem to be too many references to British groups visiting again and again. I dont want to sound awful but i like to feel I am experiencing an element of the culture of the country I am visiting and like to mix with others from places apart from UK.

I will look at Olive Grove again definitely look at your website. How lucky you are to be based in such a lovely part of the world. With regard to Kassiopi I will look there as well.

Thanks for your help. My headache is starting recede

I don't know about the apartments you mentioned specifically but Elounda is lovely. Close to Aghios Nikolaos too which is a lovely resort. I have heard goos things about Olive grove too.

It's not over-run with "Brits on the piss" (if you'll excuse the turn of phrase!) but it's not as authentic greek as Kefalonia. I'd say a very happy medium between nicely Greek and over-run with brits. Hope you enjoy your holiday wherever you end up.

HI there - If andie is on from location location Elounda just one more question ( 2 questions actually!!).

1.Have looked at Olive Grove and am checking for availability but as 2nd choice would you recommend Hiona Apartments Elounda?

  1. My back-up plan is San Stefanos (Aghios Stefanos, Corfu) I have looked at couple apartments there - just wanted some information on resort size - is it very very small? I want traditional and quiet - but dont want to sit in the same restaurant looking at the same people each night!!

I am a hard customer to please! - too much choice.

Anybody else with views on Elounda or San Stefanos feel free to pitch in!!

Thanks. K
