flights to genoa but no where to stay

DH and 2 DCs and I have flights booked to Genoa in Italy in July. Can anyone recommend where to stay. I am overwhelmed with choice. We woudlnt mind a mobile home if the site was quiet. Was also thinking of a villa but thinking the DCs may struggle to find play mates.Thanks.

Do you really want to stay in Genova? It is not the nicest holiday place, especially with children.

Agree Genova isn't really a holiday resort imo. I'd hire a car and try Owners Abroad for a villa/apartment.

Even nearby places like San Remo and Ventimiglia are nicer, imho. Genova is just an industrial city with a port.

I'll c and p this onto Little Italy for you. I'm in the deep south, so about as far from Genoa as you can get, but someone from oop north might have been there/nearby.

Thanks all. I didnt particurly want to go to Genoa. Thats just where our flight is going. Does anyone have any suggestions for towns/villages nearby.

I only know the seaside places between Genova and Monaco: Sanremo is about 45 mins from Genova. Then there are a few little seaside places like Bordighiera and Ventimiglia until the French border, which is a bit over an hour away. Monaco is 1.5 hours from Genova.

Which is the best resort. DCs are 2 and 4 so ideally need somewhere with a playground and places to eat that are child friendly.
