Hi
Wonder if anyone can help? I booked a flight a few days ago for my lo and me to visit my folks in Spain with Monarch (like the chance to book extra legroom and have a seat allocated as we will be travelling on our own).
I went through the booking process and they didn't have any seats with infant masks so I called the CS who advised me to book without the seats and then call them and they can make sure that an infant mask is added to the seats I book.
OK, I book online - adding an infant (I know I did because there is a section where they try and flog you travel insurance and I had to put both of our names in there). I then phone the CS, explain what I had been told and the lady allocates me seats and takes my CC details again.
All along the booking process my LO was registering as £0.00 which I thought was possibly right as he will be on my knee / walking the aisles (he will be 16 months when we go).
However, I went online to add our additional passenger info an it doesn't mention my little boy anywhere. I emailed Monarch and said I assumed that as I had spoken to someone and she had actually made sure there were infant masks on my seats that my booking must include my lo but he just wasn't showing. Today, I got a call from someone asking me if there had been an error message when I booked. I told him no, he said that it's just a case of getting my lo's name added to the booking so would I like to do it now? I said yes and was then put through to CS - having to wait 10 mins before someone answered who, of course, had none of my details (I rather assumed they would as they called me!)
The lady was very nice but told me that there is a £15 charge for infants each way so I had to pay for those too.
So, in short, does anyone know is it right that I have to pay for an infant as I have been told both yes and no by Monarch? Thinking about it, I am rather annoyed that I have been charged another cc fee as I have had to make - yet another (third!) - separate payment!
Thanks in advance if anyone managed to get through this and reply
