Places to go/to stay in Norfolk/Norwich

We are thinking of trying to go next week to Dinosaur Adventure in Lenwade, Norfolk and maybe staying overnight and going somewhere else the next day (anywhere en route between there and North London really).

Lenwade is the following distances from these places:

Fakenham - 20 minutes
Norwich - 25 minutes
Cromer - 40 minutes
Great Yarmouth - 50 minutes

Can anyone please suggest:

  1. somewhere nice we might stay for one night with 2 small children (if it had a pool even better though not a necessity).
  1. somewhere else to visit with the kids on day 2?

Many thanks

Norwich Puppet Theatre would be good for this age group, they also have workshops where the children can make puppets.

Thrigby is good, esp for little ones as it's not too big, Pettits is also nice and there are small rides dotted around that are included in the price. Just down the A47 from Norwich.

I wouldn't bother trying to get anywhere near the coast if you go on a bank hol w'end!!

Second suggestions for Africa Alive and Thrigby. Africa Alive is just south of Lowestoft, and on the A12 so handy for journey back to North London (slower than A11/A14/M11 route but I have done it on many occasions). Went there loads as a child, but it is much better now.

Also if weather good then Thetford Forest has v nice play areas and trails. But maybe this is better for summertime....

Spent many happy childhood days at Fritton Lake, fantastic play area especially for children.

Have fun!
