to Victoria from Gatwick, and back again? Has anyone used the easybus? All the trains are a fortune and it'll be over the Easter Weekend which means that the train companies are sorting out their masks prior to the robbery of us poor bumpkins...Help!!

delete the extra gatwick...squinting through a dodgy contact lense...

Train will be most efficient

There is a direct train from Gatwick to Victoria.
Its about a tenner i think.

It is a standard fare so no increased charges over easter. platform 5 i think it is.

I live here so do this trip reasonably often.

mamazon · 25/03/2010 13:56

there is a calling all stops train that will take about 40 minutes or a fats train that takes abou 25

Don't bother with easybus - it does not take you to central london. I agree take train - there's the gatwick express (which is the direct train) or the 'normal' train which still can be quite quick depending on which one you get

wahwahwah · 25/03/2010 15:24

Don't get the Victoria Express - get the ordinary train into Victoria - much cheaper and runs on the same line!

shelleylou · 25/03/2010 15:39

ive found this website really good as i've been looking at getting train from vitoria to gatwick in may. prices are based on 1 adult 1 way

DadInsteadofMum · 25/03/2010 16:18

Why Victoria? Do you need to go from there? Thameslink trains are much cheaper and can take you to London Bridge or St Pancras.

shelleylou · 25/03/2010 17:03

east croydon do cheap links with gatwick too. I've had to look at alternates as theres no underground to Victoria when i need to go

macmam · 25/03/2010 21:36

Def Victoria..know where I'm going from there on! [Bumpkin emoticon]....

Ooh getting excited.. A gazillion years ago used to live in Kennington... like 20 almost, so know bits and will have kids and Dh this time and soooo looking forward to it...

Have got great plans for Imperial War Museum and Science Museum for DC's...and best bit is they know not!!!
