Fleet air arm museum near Yeovilton - can't be that far away, I don't think. Lots of huge planes, including prototype concorde you can climb inside and a helicopter simulator, plus lots of space inside and out for running around.

Glastonbury Tor? Wells Cathedral? Somerset Space Walk? East SOmerset Railway? Cheddar?

Yes - Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum great.
Or helicopter museum, Weston-Super-Mare
or Haines Museum (has the famous Red Room) a 5yr old boy boy would love this place.
