Lanzarote in July/August ... is that the really windy place?!!!

Just remember someone telling me that their holiday was spoilt by the constant wind but I can't remember if it was Lanzarote or not. Can anyone help me with that?!

Lanzarote can be breezy but it's Fuerteventura that is the windier island - I think that the name even means strong wind!
