We are looking at different ferry routes to France, we traveling from the midlands to Brittany. Want reduce drive time in France, but not sleep on ferry as DS's unlikely to settle and very expensive! Thinking Portsmouth to caen or cherborg. Which companies are good for kids, I have heard some have better facilities than others?

Cheers m'deers.

We did Transmanche Newhaven/Dieppe in 2008 - brilliant soft play but extortionate prices in the cafe etc. so I would recommend a picnic.
I wouldn't recommend any of the catamaran, fast ferries - we did Portsmouth/Caen with a pregnant friend and it was horrendous - I wouldn't do it again & we really felt for the families with small kids tearing around. And it was a good weather crossing.
