Hi am about to book first visit to this sort of site and was looking at Pra delle Torri. We have 2DC who will be 4 and 2 when we travel in June. There isn't any availability with Keycamp or Eurocamp but on the advice from previous posters I have been looking on Canvas holidays.

Has anyone been to any of the other sites such as Portofelice or Ca'Savio that can give some feedback please

We had a week at Union Lido with Canvas in June when dd was 2. It was fab. We never set foot off the site. 2 water parks, shady pitches, enormous beach. Lots of choice with cafes/restaurants. Mini disco every night which dd loved. 2 supermarkets. I think Keycamp have better mobiles than Canvas, but we had no complaints. The World Cup was on (as it will be this year), but the site wasn't that busy. Highly recommended. We got private transfers from Treviso to the parc. The traffic on a Saturday to the coast was horrendous so we were glad the driver knew all the short cuts.

Thanks for that-flights for us will be to Marco Polo so will look into private transfers. How long was your transfer? I don't need kids clubs etc just pool/beach and something for children in the evenings whilst we sample the vino.

An hour or so I think. Marco Polo is much closer.

We travelled from Marco Polo to Lido di Jesolo by coach and local buses. I know taxi's were a lot more expensive, it cost us about 50E to get the coach return and the pick up was right outside the airport. Worth looking into.

We drove and somehow ended up at the bottom of the runway of the airport. I would suggest you purchase plenty of mozzie repellant, they bite through clothing [shick]. We went in August so I don't know if that makes a difference.

At Union Lido they sprayed every evening. I don't remember it being a problem.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 18/03/2010 10:28

Obviously we didn't end up camping in the airport, the site was at the endof the runway behind a wire fence. it hailed too.

We went to Ca'Savio in August too and we did get bitten a bit, they didn't spray every evening though. It was particularly humid at one and they sprayed a lot then and that did help a lot.

Portofelice is fantastic! I would thoroughly recommend it! We've been the last 2 years (going to France this year) but will probably go back to Portofelice next year. It is perfect - got fab pools andis on a beach. Just a short walk to local town - Eraclea Mare which has lovely restaurants and a market. Loads for the DC t do and it's a smallish and friendly campsite. The only thing about Pra del torre is that it is HUGE - massive in fact!!
The first year we went I paid for a taxi transfer these were the cheapest and very relaible - it was about 80e for the trip. Got the bus back from outside campsite to airport for about 3e each and they didn't charge for dd! On the way there though this year for some reason they'd changed the bus timetabls/routes and we had to change at San Dona di piave and get on a bus to Eraclea Mare and tey made us gte off a short walk from campiste entrance - only about 5 mins but it seemed longer!
Mozzies were a bit of a prob but a bearable one! The site got sprayed once a week and they had lots of mozzie zapper machines! They are very hot on siest and quiet time too at portofelice which was great! look it up here - so {smile}!
